Katie Tiley incorporates scrapped objects within her drawing and painting practice to abstract moments in memoriam. The architecture of her surreal environments stretch their limits to become a part of their designers. Through thoughtful detail and exaggeration, figures become hybrid objects. Tiley’s work is an Animorph© of the human flesh and some sad concrete structure half sunken into the earth. A sinkhole that pulls a slow tangled mess.
