I wanted the familiar objects of a still life to gradually lose their boundaries and dissolve into abstraction, while still leaving traces of the real world behind. The fabrics and tea bowls come mostly from Tashkent and carry with them the warmth and intimacy of Central Asian tea culture, where tea is not simply a drink, but a way of life, a ritual of hospitality, comfort, and being together.
